Sounds we hear!
On Wednesdays, our Speech and Language Pathologist, Mrs. Dyer, leads circle time! This is a fun and exciting way to hone in on some of the speech and language areas that so many preschoolers struggle with. She always makes it fun and usually plays a new game with the children. Today she gave each child a picture and together we made the sounds of that picture (train, car, bell, phone, dog, baby, snake, drum, fire truck, and clock). At art time, we used watercolors to paint with. At story time, we read "The Kissing Hand" by Audrey Penn and talk about how to use sign language to say "I love you".

First Day of School!
ONE DAY DOWN!!!! We had an excellent first day! There were only a few tears, but mostly excitement out of the children! We sang "Wheels on the Bus" and "Shaky, Shaky". Our book for the week is "Don't Eat the Teacher!" by Nick Ward. It's about a shark going to school and when he gets excited he opens his mouth and....CRUNCH! We also made Flubber to play with at art! All in all, we are off to a great start!
Flubber Recipe:
1 1/2 cups warm water
2 cups Elmer's glue
Food coloring
-Mix together
1 1/3 cups warm water
3 tsp. Borax
-dissolve Borax in water, separately from above mixture
-Combine both mixtures until flubber forms a ball!

Welcome!
Welcome Families to my blog! I'm very excited about this! I want to use this as a quick and simple way to communicate with families about their child's day at preschool. I will try to post something every week and my goal is to do a short daily post eventually. Be patient with me as I learn! Thanks!-Amber
